Electric Eye Tattoo started as a clean and bright little studio on the East Coast of South Africa, over looking the Indian Ocean, and is quietly, but steadily cranking out some of the hottest ink in Africa. We have now branched out by opening a new shop in Gateway Shopping Centre, on the Umhlanga Ridge.
Electric Eye Tattoo was started by Malcom ‘Mully’ Hilton. Mully enrolled in a Graphic Design course for two years, and then whilst chasing the surf in California and Hawaii in 1992, was summoned by the Tattoo Gods. Mully is primarily a self taught tattooist, but was fortunate enough to spend some time with Little Vinnie Myers and Dave Waugh and the crew who were really cool. They introduced him to some of the big guns in the game where valuable knowledge on tattooing techniques and proficiency on the technical side were gained. Mully went from being your anti tattoo campaigner to someone who lives and breathes the art, and is taking it to higher levels, by putting South Africa on the international tattooing map.

South Africans are beginning to request larger and more custom pieces, which shows promise in South Africa being able to host a full International tattoo Convention in the near future.
